Muzzy Izzet has said he is happy to stay at Leicester for the rest of the season, if a credible bid for him is not received. Izzet handed in a transfer request last month, but insists that he is still fully committed to the Foxes. The Turkish international requested the move in a bid to play in Europe and realise his ambitions in the game.
The midfielder was thought to be on the verge of a move to high-flying Aston Villa, but the Villains boss John Gregory pulled out of making a move because of insufficient funds. Izzet though is adamant that he is not concerned about the collapse of the Villa deal.
The combative player said: "Is the Villa thing a blow to me? No. I didn't go on the list to specifically go to Aston Villa or any other club. I put my name on the list and that was it. If it stays like this to the end of the season, I am happy. There is no problem there. I am 100% behind the team."
Izzet helped his side to a 1-0 victory over Sunderland at the weekend, a win that saw them breathe life into what was threatening to become a nightmare campaign. Izzet said: "If something happens, then it happens. But if it doesn't happen to the end of the season I will still give everything for Leicester as you can see from the games against Blackburn and Sunderland. In any case at this moment in time, with the way we are playing now, things are looking better.
