Larsson's double puts Celtic top

Scottish champions Celtic made it three wins out of three as Swedish striker Henrik Larsson struck twice to give them a 2-0 victory over Hearts in the premier league today. Larsson, scorer of 53 goals for Celtic last season, took his tally to three in three games with efforts after 45 and 64 minutes to settle the game at Parkhead.

Bert Konterman netted two second-half goals to give Rangers a resounding 4-1 success at Dunfermline. Russell Latapy and Tore Andre Flo had given the visitors a 2-0 half-time advantage and a Stefan Klos own goal was the Pars' only reward.

Centre-back Justin Skinner was sent off in the 81st minute for deliberate handball when the ball had bounced off Flo and looked to have put Latapy clear. The free-kick was touched to Konterman, who lashed the ball into the back of the net.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Hibernian recorded their first win by beating Aberdeen 2-0, promoted Livingston lost 1-0 at Dundee and St Johnstone, without a point so far this term, were beaten by the same score at home by Dundee United.
