Mick McCarthy's plans for the forthcoming friendly against Croatia and the World Cup qualifier against Holland have been badly affected with the withdrawal of Mark Kinsella and further injury problems for Kenny Cunningham, Stephen Carr and Gary Breen. Kinsella is certain to be ruled out for at least six weeks due to a hernia operation.
It also looks unlikely that Cunningham or Breen will be ready in time for the Dutch match while Carr is also struggling to be fit for the game.
