Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf is on the verge of leaving the London club for a move to Marseille after the two clubs agreed a fee for the French international. Marseille have reportedly agreed to pay £1.2m to Chelsea for the Frenchman who has one year left on his contract.
Leboeuf is already on his way back to France to hold talks with Marseille officials and although he still has to agree personal terms and pass a medical before the transfer can go through, it looks likely that the 33-year-old defender is on his way out of the Premiership.
Chelsea managing director Colin Hutchinson confirmed: "We have agreed a deal with Marseille with regard to Frank Leboeuf. Frank is now on his way to France to hold talks with the club. It has been fairly well documented that, back in January, he was keen to go to Monaco. That deal fell through but now Frank has another opportunity to finish his career in his homeland. Marseille is close to the area where his parents live."
