It is understood that Tommy Cassidy could have parted company with Sligo Rovers by mutual consent, following a meeting earlier this evening. An announcement is expected in the morning.
Cassidy earlier denied that he has been sacked, but admitted that he is unlikely to remain at The Showgrounds. Reports have suggested that he is set to be replaced by former Galway manager Don O'Riordan. Former Northern Ireland international Cassidy said: "This is news to me. I think it's just a case of people putting one and one together and getting three, although they may not be far off the mark."
Cassidy has been in charge of Rovers since November 1999 and has one year left on his contract. Although Sligo narrowly missed out on promotion to the First Division last season, Cassidy fears that the club could struggle next season because of a lack of funds.
