Lazio star Juan Veron's career is on the brink of ruin after the Italian Football Federation were advised to suspend him for two years by a federal prosecutor for illegally obtaining a European passport.
Veron, who has been linked with a £22million move to Manchester United, has been accused of using a false Italian birth certificate, which claims he has Italians relatives to obtain a passport. A decision from the Italian Federation is expected as early as next week, after five other players face bans for similar offences.
Veron is also due before an Italian court on October 11 to face charges of gaining an Italian passport through false documentation is maintaining his innocence and claims that he never handled any of the paperwork for his passport.
The Argentinean star has earlier refuted rumours of a move to Manchester United, saying "The rumours of me being close to a move to Manchester United? None of them are true."
