Kieron Dyer has denied the rumours that he is ready to quit Newcastle - and instead insisted he wants to help the club win trophies.
England star Dyer was quoted in the Sun newspaper today saying that he will seek showdown talks with the manager Bobby Robson and the Newcastle chairman if the club do not make four or five top-quality signings. However, Dyer has insisted his views were misinterpreted, and wants everyone to know that he is totally committed to the club.
In a statement issued to PA Sport, Dyer said: "I would like to set the record straight after quotes which appeared in this morning's Sun newspaper, which were completely misinterpreted. I am proud to say I am totally committed to Newcastle United Football Club, and especially to Bobby Robson, who has been an inspiration not just to me but to everybody at this club. I have three years left on my Newcastle contract and I intend to spend them helping the club win the trophies it so richly deserves."
