Teddy Sheringham is expected to rejoin Tottenham tomorrow and become manager Glenn Hoddle's first signing. Spurs have called a press conference for tomorrow afternoon and it is widely rumoured England striker Sheringham is the man they will be unveiling. He will arrive on a Bosman free transfer from Manchester United and is expected to sign a two-year contract.
Sheringham, 35, spent five seasons at White Hart Lane and was a key player for the club, making 197 appearances and scoring 98 goals. But he fell out with former chairman Alan Sugar and left for Old Trafford in June 1997 in a £3.5million deal.
He was then part of the United team which clinched a historic Treble in 1999. Sheringham's United contract is up this summer and he was offered a one-year extension. But he will instead move to Spurs because they can offer him a two-year deal and also a return to London. (PA)
