Arsenal are hoping to complete the signing of Polish international goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek from Feyenoord sometime this week. The 28-year-old keeper has already met with Arsene Wenger and Arsenal's vice-president David Dein, and both watched him in play in yesterday's 2-2 draw with Utrecht. It is belived Dudek, rated at £5.7million by his club, will travel to London later this week with his agent to negotiate a five-year contract with the Gunners.
If the transfer does go ahead, it will likely spell the end of David Seaman's hold on the number one spot in the Arsenal line-up. A testimonial for Seaman will be held tomorrow night at Highbury and at 37-years-of-age, the England keeper is definitely approaching the end of his career.
