Bolton Wanderers are just one victory away from a return to the Premiership following tonight's 3-0 victory over West Brom at the Reebok Stadium. Wanderers built on their 2-2 first-leg draw as early as the tenth minute when Gudni Bergsson poked the ball home from close range to give them the advantage.
But the home side had to wait until midway through the second half when Ricardo Gardner doubled the advantage with a low drive in the 63rd minute to put the Trotters firmly in control.
Despite dominating the game for long periods West Brom were unable to claw themselves back into the tie and substitute Michael Ricketts struck the third in stoppage time to put a flattering gloss on the scoreline in front of a jubilant crowd of almost 24,000.
Bolton now meet Preston in the First Division play-off final in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on May 28.
