Bohemians striker Glen Crowe was named as the eircom-sponsored Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Personality of the Year last night. The 23-year-old scored an impressive tally of 35 goals for his club this season. Crowe was also named Player of the Year earlier this season in what has been a memorable year for the Dalymount club. The Gypsies began the season with UEFA Cup victories over Aberdeen and Kaiserslautern, before a late end-of-season run of form saw them pip Dublin rivals Shelbourne to the title on the last day. And Roddy Collins' men could do the double if they beat Longford Town in the FAI Cup Final this Sunday.
UCD coach Theo Dunne received a special merit award.
