Inter Bratislava striker Szilard Nemeth has signed a five-year deal with Middlesbrough.
The Slovakian international, who netted 16 goals as he helped Inter to his domestic league title last season, starts with his new employers on July 1. Nemeth, who was on trial at Middlesbrough's north-east rivals Sunderland this month and was also linked with a move to Inter Milan, is glad that he has chosen the Riverside club.
He said: "Having signed a contract with Middlesbrough, I've settled the question of my football future. I am happy that it is all over. This is perhaps an unexpected change after the previous talks, but that's life in football. I am looking forward to joining my new club and English football." Nemeth is a regular in the Slovakian national team and netted twice in the recent 3-1 win over Azerbaijan.
