Ronaldo gets all-clear

Inter Milan's Ronaldo has fully recovered from knee ligament surgery and is ready to start the long road back to match fitness, the club said today. The Brazilian spoke to club officials from Paris after being examined by the surgeon who operated on his knee last year.

"The professor told me I am clinically cured, I'm alright," the club's website quoted him as saying. "Now the important phase of work starts, which I will do in Brazil before returning to join the squad."

Ronaldo tore a tendon in his right knee last April in the first leg of the Italian Cup final against Lazio. He had been out for five months previously, but lasted in his comeback match only until his first real piece of action when his knee collapsed again. (Reuters)
