Harps score late victory

A late strike by James Morrow gave struggling Finn Harps all three points against First Division bound Kilkenny City at Buckley Park this evening. In the day's only game to survive the adverse weather conditions, the Ballybofey club did their survival chances no harm, even though they were lucky to be in the game at half time following a first half where City squandered several good chances.

Mick O'Byrne and Damien Bradley both went close to opening the scoring as the home side enjoyed the lion share of possession, but Harps upped a gear in a more evenly matched second period. Morrow and Johnny Kenny went close for the visitors, before the former stepped up for the vital goal four minutes from time after being put through by Fergal Harkin.

The Donegal side are now just three points behind UCD, who lie third from bottom in the promotion/relegation play-off spot.
