Weather hits domestic soccer fixtures

Today's arctic-like weather has hit tonight's FAI Cup programme badly, with both FAI Cup ties postponed following heavy overnight snowfall. St Patrick's Athletic's tie with Longford Town at Richmond Park and Portmarnock's home clash with First Division leaders Dundalk have both been postponed, while this afternoon's Under-21 international match between the Republic and Denmark scheduled for Dalymount has also been hit by the weather.

The eircom First Division match between promotion hopefuls Monaghan United and Sligo Rovers at Gortakeegan is also off.
