Charlton Athletic captain Mark Kinsella was announced as the FAI Eircom player of the year.
Kinsella, whose performances for the club and country have won him 20 senior caps, took the award ahead of Irish captain Roy Keane and Sunderland Striker Niall Quinn.
Richard Dunne, who recently moved from Everton to Manchester City in a £3m transfer, took the Young Player Award ahead of Robbie Keane and Kevin Kilbane.
Elsewhere Shelbourne’s Pat Fenlon scooped the Eircom League award, beating off the challenge of Bohemian’s Glen Crowe and Kevin Hunt.
