Derry City ended Bohemians unbeaten league run at the Brandywell tonight thanks to a 1-0 victory. Liam Coyle got the only goal of the game after 32mins and Bohemians cause wasn't helped when Dave Hill was sent off after 56mins.

The game had extra significance as it could well have been Derry’s last match in senior football. They have until next Wednesday to come up with the £43,000 sterling needed to keep the British Inland Revenue at bay. The total debt is in the region of £150,000 sterling and several fund raising events have been organised for the end of the month to try and raise the money.

The date for the friendly against Celtic has been provisionally set for October 2nd in the Brandywell and the Undertones will play a concert on September 29th. There is also a Phil Coulter Golf Classic on September 27th. All of these are great events, which will hopefully help to keep Derry City F.C. alive.
