The Football Association of Ireland has said it is interested in staging a joint bid to host the 2008 European Championships. The Presidents and general secretaries of the FAI, the Scottish FA and the Welsh FA met over the weekend in Zurich to discuss the possibility.
In a statement released today, the FAI said it was accepted at yesterday's meeting that an inclusion of one or all of the other parties may increase the chances of a bid to host the 2008 championships being successful. However, the Scottish FA are also investigating the possiblity of a lone bid.
