Soccer: Figo set to inspire Real Madrid

Luis Figo has promised to re-establish Real Madrid as the top side in Spain following his world record 45 million-pound transfer from Barcelona. The 27-year-old Portuguese international has signed a 6-year deal and will earn around 3 million per year. Real finished fifth in the Spanish League last season and could recoup 12 million of their outlay with the sale of their Argentinean midfielder Fernando Redondo to AC Milan.
