Cork City moved into third place in the Eircom League Premier Division after a 2-1 victory over Shamrock Rovers at Morton Stadium this afternoon. John Cotter and Pat Morley netted for the visitors with a Paul Crowley goal turning out to be just not enough for Rovers. Rovers were in fact in control for much of the game, particularly the first half, but could not convert their chances.
Cork are now level with St Patrick's Athletic on 49 points behind Bohemians and the side already crowned champions, Shelbourne.
