UCD 2 St. Pats. 1
An uneventful game suddenly burst into life midway through the second half in this Dublin clash. UCD captain tripped McCarthy in the box and the Saints were awarded a penalty that Gormley converted. Lynch was sent off and it looked as if the visitors would take control of the contest but the students equalised three minutes later through Martin. Worse was to follow for St Pats as they gifted UCD the points when keeper Trevor Wood lost concentration and let a simple clearance run over the line.
Shamrock Rovers 3 Finn Harps 3
An entertaining game at Morton Stadium saw Shamrock Rovers and Finn Harps finish honours even. The visitors took a surprise early lead on 23 minutes through Mulligan before Sean Francis equalised for Rovers to leave it level at half time. The Hoops then took the lead shortly after the interval but Finn Harps pulled level before McGrenehen put the visitors 3-2 up. Just when it seemed that Rovers were going to get nothing from the game Purdy popped it to equalise on 90 mins.
Galway United 2 Drogheda 2
After a mundane first-half supporters were rewarded with four goals in the second half at Terryland Park today. On loan Cardiff player Thomas put the visitors ahead after 48 minutes to score Drogheda's first league goal in ten matches. Sheridan then equalised for Galway although it looked as if Coleman had fouled the Drogheda keeper. Galway then went further ahead when Levine connected with a Foley cross but Drogheda scored the goal of the game through O'Keefe to gain a point.
Derry City 1 Waterford United 1
A good first half saw Liam Coyle score a stunning goal for Derry City after six minutes. Picking the ball up in midfield he unleashed a powerful left-foot shot from 35 yards to leave United keeper Michael Devine stranded. Derry were then in total control but let Waterford back into the game when Wood fired in a low goalmouth cross for Karl Gannon to convert. The second half was poor with neither side threatening and in the end the draw was a fair result.
