Soccer: Celtic confirm interest in Brazilian Rafael Felip

Celtic head coach John Barnes tonight revealed the club have targeted £6million-rated Brazilian defender Rafael Felipe Scheidt, but stressed no deal is imminent. Speaking after Celtic's emphatic 4-0 win over Hibernian at Parkhead, Barnes confirmed he is still looking to strengthen his side who have struggled defensively before today.

The shift in formation to incorporate a third central defender has left Celtic's resources stretched in that area and Barnes views Sheidt as a possible answer at the back. The 23-year-old is currently with Gremio, but a firm Celtic enquiry has been made and now the Glasgow club are keen to progress further with any potential deal.
