Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri was the most notable omission from France coach Didier Deschamps' 23-man World Cup squad.

Nasri, who has been a key man in City's successful bid to be crowned Barclays Premier League champions, was axed from Deschamps' last squad in February for a friendly against Holland and he has not been included for Brazil.
