Seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan overcame Robert Milkins 7-5 to advance to the final of the World Seniors Snooker Championship.

The 50-year-old reeled off the final three frames to edge out a close encounter with Milkins at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

O'Sullivan led early on in a back and forth semi-final, but was forced to come back on three occasions to overcome Milkins who previously established 3-2, 4-3 and 5-4 leads in the contest.

The Rocket began to take hold of the contest after a mistake on the blue in the 11th frame let him take control before he edged out 'The Milkman' in the final frame and book his place in the final.

O'Sullivan admitted he was under immense pressure during the last-four clash.

O'Sullivan told Channel 5: "It's good experience to play under this pressure.

"None of the players are making excuses. I thought we were cueing well but it is just sometimes you can fall out of position and keep chasing the balls.

"It is hard, especially under pressure in front of a big crowd. So I think we've done really well considering the conditions.

"I'm messing about with different types of cue actions so it was a good experience to play under pressure, lose it and get it back. It is all new for me. So I'm enjoying that process."

Milkins admitted he missed too many easy chances in the contest against a player who "scares the hell" out of him.

He added: "I'm not sharp I disrespected the game for too long.

"I missed too many easy balls. Ronnie scares the hell out of me. When you're struggling you've got no chance against him."
