Ronnie O'Sullivan beat home favourite Wu Yize in a last-frame decider at the World Open to reach his first ranking final since January 2024.
The 50-year-old made a break of 89 in the final frame to triumph 6-5 in Yushan, a day after achieving the historic feat of making the highest break in professional snooker with his 153 against Ryan Day.
O’Sullivan took the first two frames in the semi-final but 22-year-old Wu hit back to level the scores at 3-3. O’Sullivan hit a century break to move one away from victory before Wu responded again to force the decider.
It is the first time O’Sullivan has reached a ranking final since winning the World Grand Prix over two years ago.
O'Sullivan’s opponent will be Thai Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, who defeated world number one Judd Trump 6-4 in the other semi-final.
