Ronnie O'Sullivan eased to victory in the first round of the World Open in Yushan with a 5-1 win over Ross Muir.
O’Sullivan raced to take a 3-0 lead in the contest before Muir pulled a frame back, but the world number 12 replied with back-to-back century breaks to reach round two where he will face Ishpreet Singh Chadha on Tuesday.
John Higgins also got his title defence off to a winning start, progressing into round two with a 5-3 victory over Liam Highfield while in the second round, Shaun Murphy clinched a 5-4 win over David Lilley.
Judd Trump reached round two with a 5-1 win over Mark Lloyd and Zhao Xintong posted two century breaks in a dominant 5-0 triumph against Han Fuyuan.
