John Higgins edged out Revesz Bulcsu over seven frames as he progressed through to the last-16 of the Welsh Open.

In a back and forth contest, Bulcsu went 2-1 up before a pair of 50 breaks put Higgins within one frame of victory, but the Hungarian back came with a break of 76 to set up a last-frame decider. Higgins' experience showed in the end to clean up and set up a clash with Zhang Anda in the next round.

Zhou Yuelong was in inspired form and hit three breaks of 50-plus to earn a convincing 4-1 victory over world number two Kyren Wilson.

World champion Zhao Xintong fended off a mini fightback from Sam Moody to win 4-2 and will face Stuart Bingham after he earned a 4-2 victory over David Gilbert.

Jack Lisowski came from the brink of defeat to earn a 4-3 win over Guodong Xiao, while Gary Wilson was stunned by Sam Craigie, losing 4-1.

There were also wins for Jak Jones, Barry Hawkins, Mark Williams, Neil Robertson and Wu Yize.
