World Champion Zhao Xintong will face compatriot Zhang Anda in the World Grand Prix final after both came through the first all-Chinese semi-final line-up in ranking event history.
Zhao won four of the final five frames to beat Xiao Guodong 6-3. Zhang's progress was a much closer affair with a 6-5 victory over Zhou Yuelong on the final black.
"What I showed today was my normal level, because previously I gave my opponent too many chances," said Zhao, who has reached his first ranking final since becoming world champion last year, at the Kai Tak Arena in Hong Kong.
"Whenever I had an opportunity, I was basically able to finish it in one visit."
Zhang said of his semi-final experience: "I was nervous in the last frame. It is very exciting. I just hope tomorrow is a great final."
