Chris Wakelin will take on Chang Bingyu in the final of the BetVictor Scottish Open in Edinburgh.
Wakelin reached the third ranking final of his career by holding off Matthew Selt to claim a 6-4 victory.
Wakelin won the opening three frames and was never behind but Selt showed spirit to hang in the contest before a final break of 77 clinched it.
It was a double celebration for Wakelin, whose daughter Mia celebrated her first birthday on Saturday, and he said: "It is a magic day. To be in my first final on home soil and have my fiancee and daughter here is a little bit of a stroke of luck I guess."
China's Chang was playing in his first ranking event semi-final but showed he more than belonged by thumping Belfast's Mark Allen 6-1, opening the contest in style with a break of 134.
