Antrim's Mark Allen has advanced to the last four of the Scottish Open after an impressive 5-2 victory over England’s Joe O’Connor.
A break of 66 saw Allen take the first frame before O’Connor, ranked 28th in the world, responded with a break of 93 to level the match in Edinburgh.
Allen, who won the tournament in 2018, rattled off the next three frames to take control though, the fifth settled by a fantastic break of 139.
O’Connor did keep his hopes alive by taking the sixth, but in a back and forth final frame, Allen finally found an opening and booked a spot in the last four.
China’s Chang Bingyu is next up for Allen on Saturday as he earned an eye-catching 5-3 win over Mark Selby.
Bingyu recorded breaks of 85, 89, 91, 123 and 139 enroute to victory.
The other semi-final is set to be an all-English affair between Chris Wakelin and Matthew Selt.
Wakelin was a 5-3 winner over Zhou Yuelong while Selt beat Jiang Jun 5-2.
