Three-time women's world champion Ng On-yee caused an upset in the first round of the Snooker Shoot Out with victory over Mark Allen in Blackpool.
Ng came through 37-34 against Northern Irishman Allen, the world number seven, in the one-frame match which has a 10-minute time limit.
World champion Zhao Xintong is also out in the first round after he slipped to a 34-21 defeat by Scotland’s Ross Muir.
Earlier at the Blackpool Tower Circus, Wu Yize made a break of 141 as he swept past Craig Steadman.
Limerick's Jack O'Brien was beaten on a first appearance in a WST event against 2015 world champion Stuart Bingham in the evening session.
