Mark Selby will play Judd Trump in Sunday's UK Championship final after he defeated Shaun Murphy 6-3 in York.
Selby raced into a 4-1 lead but Murphy got to within a frame before the world number 11 wrapped up the match with a stylish 127 break to ensure he faces defending champion Trump for the title.
The 42-year-old clinched the first frame but Murphy replied with a 131 break to level things up. Selby then raced clear with three straight frames including a 105-break to put him within two frames over victory.
Murphy cut the deficit to one after back-to-back frames to give himself hope before Selby won the next two to seal his place in the final.
Earlier in the day, Trump reached his fifth UK Championship final with a comfortable 6-3 victory over Neil Robertson at the York Barbican.
Two-time winner Trump is now just one match away from maintaining his record of winning at least one ranking title every year since 2016.
Trump slotted a couple of half-centuries, while Robertson compiled a wonderful break of 114 which helped him take a 3-2 lead.
However, the world number one showed his class and capitalised with three more half-centuries to take the lead again before completing his triumph in the next frame
