Three-time champion Neil Robertson eased through to the second round of the UK Snooker Championship in York with a 6-2 win over Belgian qualifier Julian Leclerq.

Robertson, who last won the title in 2020, was twice pegged back to within a frame but reeled off three in a row to set up a clash with China's Wu Yize, who beat Michael Holt 6-4.

Two-time winner Mark Williams repelled a gutsy fightback from David Gilbert to also confirm his place in round two with a 6-4 win. Pang Junxu defeated Xiao Guodong 6-2 in the other match in the evening session.

Antrim's Mark Allen is set to begin his quest for a second UK Championship title against Scott Donaldson on Monday evening.

Judd Trump, Shaun Murphy, John Higgins and Si Jiahui made it through in Saturday's matches.
