Home-town hero Mark Selby defeated Judd Trump 10-5 to win the Champion of Champions title for the first time in Leicester.
Selby was in brilliant form at the Mattioli Arena, hitting five century breaks, including three in a row to clinch victory and a first tournament win since February.
Trump began in style with a break of 111, but Selby hit back with a century in the second frame before a 127 helped the world number one into a 3-1 lead.
Back came Selby with a run of four frames in a row, including another ton, only for Trump to level matters in the first frame after the interval.
But from there Selby took control, and Trump managed just five points in the final three frames as his opponent racked up breaks of 138, 101 and 136.
"This tournament has only got the best players in it, so this is a privilege," Selby told ITV.
"I played well today but I knew I had to. Judd is the man to beat.
"It feels like it's been a while since I have played to that standard."
