Zhao Xintong held his nerve to beat Mark Selby 6-5 and move into the semi-finals of the International Championship in Nanjing.
The 28-year-old recovered from a 4-2 deficit to complete his first career win over Selby, and reach the last four of a ranking event for the first time since his world title win at the Crucible last year.
Zhao told wst.tv: "That was unbelievable. It was my first time beating Mark Selby and I had to come back from behind. I am so proud of myself."
Zhao will face fellow Chinese player Wu Yize in the last four after Wu – who won six frames in a row to turn a 4-0 deficit into victory over Judd Trump on Wednesday – repeated the feat with a 6-0 whitewash of Barry Hawkins.
Stephen Maguire also won six frames in a row to beat Zak Surety 6-1. He will next face his fellow Scot John Higgins, who compiled two centuries in a 6-2 win over Shaun Murphy.
