World number one Judd Trump was knocked out of the International Championship after China's Wu Yize produced a fightback from 4-0 down to secure his place in the quarter-finals.
Trump, runner-up at the Northern Ireland Open, had looked in control with a commanding lead at the mid-session interval, but he managed only 18 more points as Wu made a run of breaks over 80 – including 109 in the sixth frame – to seal a 6-4 triumph.
Wu, ranked 22nd in the world, goes on to play Barry Hawkins after he battled to a 6-4 win over Jack Lisowski, who saw his hopes of back-to-back ranking titles ended despite hitting a run of three centuries, with a 141 clearance in the fifth frame.
World champion Zhao Xintong also progressed after beating compatriot Si Jiahui 6-1, while Mark Selby beat Scotland's Anthony McGill by the same scoreline.
In the evening session in Nanjing, Shaun Murphy beat last year’s tournament winner Ding Junhui 6-2, while former world champion Neil Robertson hit a 137 break but slipped to a 6-3 defeat against Zak Surety, who had made a maximum in the last round.
Stephen Maguire beat home player Jiang Jun 6-4 and veteran John Higgins came through a last-frame decider against Scott Donaldson to complete the quarter-final line-up.
