Zak Surety hits 147 to edge Aaron Hill, Jack Lisowski downs Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan

Zak Surety made a 147 break in his 6-5 win over Ireland's Aaron Hill while Ronnie O'Sullivan was also edged out in a last-frame decider by Jack Lisowski at the International Championship in Nanjing.

Surety hit his maximum in the third frame of his victory over the Corkman, who fought back from 4-2 down to lead before being edged out in the final two frames.

Lisowski, who claimed his maiden ranking title at the Northern Ireland Open, had built a 5-3 lead with a highest break of 113.

O’Sullivan rallied to level the match but Lisowski closed out a first victory over the seven-time world champion to take his place in the last 16.

Lisowski will play Barry Hawkins, who beat Jak Jones 6-3. Former world champion Kyren Wilson slipped to a 6-4 defeat against Stephen Maguire, while there were also third-round wins for Anthony McGill and Wu Yize.

World champion Zhao Xintong of China survived a scare to eventually see off compatriot Lei Peifan 6-5 and veteran John Higgins beat Hossein Vafaei 6-3.

World number one Judd Trump finished off his 6-3 victory over Noppon Saengkham with a 119 break and Shaun Murphy made a 140 as he beat Elliot Slessor 6-4.

Top seed Ding Junhui hit back-to-back breaks of 131 and 138 as he progressed along with former world champions Mark Selby and Neil Robertson.
