Ronnie O'Sullivan recovered from 2-0 down to advance at the International Championship with a 6-2 win over Sanderson Lam.

Lam started well and a clearance of 116 gave him the early two-frame advantage but O’Sullivan quickly turned things back around in a tournament which is still missing from his extensive resume.

Earlier Judd Trump got revenge for defeat at the Xi’ang Grand Prix as he beat Matthew Stevens 6-3.

Trump’s best break was a 105 that put him 5-1 up, and although Stevens responded with 81 and 83 it was too late for a comeback.

Aaron Hill has advanced to the second round after receiving a walkover against Ali Carter.

The Cork man was due to face the English player in a best of 11 frames contest, but Carter pulled out – as he did during the recent Northern Ireland Open where he had cited "personal reasons" for his decision before his last-16 clash with Zhou Yuelong.

Hill will be back in action on Tuesday in the last 16 when he faces England's Zak Surety.
