Shaun Murphy came from two frames behind to see off Gary Wilson and set up a Xi'an Grand Prix final against Mark Williams on Monday.
Murphy, who is also aiming for back-to-back tournament wins, knocked in three breaks over 140 to win the match 6-4.
He won last month's British Open after briefly slipping out of the world's top 16 players for the first time in 19 years, but he looks to have put the slump behind him on his current sensational run.
Williams booked his place in the final earlier in the day with a 6-3 triumph over fellow Welshman Daniel Wells.
Williams, who had to come from 3-2 behind to progress, hit a high break of 129 in the seventh frame.
History beckons for the Ebbw Vale native, who can become the oldest player to ever win a ranking event on the World Snooker Tour. The late Ray Reardon, who was 50 years and 14 days when he landed the 1982 Professional Players Tournament, currently holds the record, but Williams will be 192 days older tomorrow.
The three-time world champion would also become the first player to win a WST event in every decade from his teens to his 50s.
