Graeme Dott will not take part in this year's World Snooker Championship qualifiers following his suspension by the sport’s governing body.
The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association announced on Wednesday that former world champion Dott had been suspended due to a case which is scheduled to be heard before the High Court in Scotland.
The case is due to be called at the High Court in Glasgow in June.
Dott – who defeated Peter Ebdon to win the 2006 title at the Crucible in Sheffield and also reached the World Championship final two other times – has fallen down the rankings this season.
Scotsman Dott was set to enter the 2025 World Championship qualifiers in the second round on Friday, against Wang Yuchen.
Given Dott has the right to appeal over his suspension by the WPBSA, it is understood that he had initially remained in the draw.
However, with that process unlikely to be completed in time for Dott to play in Sheffield on Friday, as originally scheduled, Hong Kong player Wang has now been handed a bye into the third round, where he will take on Robert Milkins.
