Ding Junhui celebrated his 38th birthday in style with a resounding victory over defending champion Mark Williams in the Tour Championship.

Ding made two centuries and breaks of 82, 78 (twice), 56 and 52 as he reeled off the last seven frames in succession to complete a 10-3 win at Manchester Central.

Williams, who had made a break of 74 to level the scores at 3-3, scored just 35 points in the last seven frames as Ding secured a quarter-final clash with world champion Kyren Wilson.

Four-time world champion Mark Selby will take on Neil Robertson in the last eight after defeating Si Jiahui 10-6, while China's Xiao Guodong faces John Higgins after defeating compatriot Wu Yize 10-8.

Xiao recovered from a 3-0 deficit to level it up at 4-4 on Monday night and won the opening two frames on Tuesday to move 6-4 ahead.

Wu responded with successive scores of 79 and 100 to level the match again and a break of 77 helped him establish an 8-7 lead.

However, Xiao won the last three frames, with the help of two half-century breaks, to advance to the quarter-finals.
