Barry Hawkins rattled in five century breaks as he demolished Shaun Murphy 10-1 in the first round of the Tour Championship in Manchester.
Hawkins' haul included three total clearances – of 131, 132 and 134 – as he raced into a 7-1 lead after the first session.
When the match resumed in the evening, Murphy sportingly called a foul against himself which cost him the ninth frame.
Hawkins duly took the next two with minimal fuss to secure an early finish and set up a quarter-final against world number one Judd Trump.
Defending champion Mark Williams, playing while wearing contact lenses for the first time, trails China’s Ding Junhui 5-3 and Xiao Guodong came from 3-0 down to move level at 4-4 with fellow Chinese player Wu Yize.
