Kyren Wilson sealed a superb fightback with a 134 break in the deciding frame to beat Neil Robertson 6-5 and reach the Players Championship final in Telford.
World number two Wilson, who had trailed 4-1 and 5-4 against Australian world number 11 Robertson, will play Judd Trump or John Higgins in Sunday's final.
Robertson raced into a 2-0 lead after opening with breaks of 100 and 83 and another score of 73 in the fifth frame saw him cruise into a 4-1 lead.
Wilson cut the deficit to 4-3 with scores of 116 and 57 and hauled himself level at 4-4 by winning a third successive frame.
Robertson regained the lead and moved to within one frame of victory after a run of 56 put him 5-4 up but Wilson, who won his first world title last year, saved his best for last.
He levelled it up again with a score of 89 in the 10th frame and secured his comeback with a match-winning score of 134 in the decider.
Higgins fought back from 5-2 down earlier on Friday to beat China's Xiao Guodong 6-5.
Breaks of 111, 55, 60 and 104 helped Xiao establish a commanding lead, with the only point Higgins scored in the first two frames coming from a fluke.
However, Xiao then called a foul on himself in the eighth frame after unfortunately sticking on a red when splitting the pack from the black and Higgins took advantage with a break of 70 to reduce his deficit.
Higgins took the next two frames as well as Xiao missed numerous chances to seal victory and a break of 51 in the decider took Higgins through to a last-four clash with world number one Trump.
