Mark Allen has been beaten in his second-round match with David Lilley at the World Open in Yushan, China.

'The Pistol' hit two centuries, including a 142 in the opening frame, but lost 5-4 after a superb 77 by Lilley in the decider.

It was a high-quality match with breaks of over 60 in all nine frames.

Allen posted on X after the game: "Decent game today but not to be. Great break from Dave in the last. Best of luck to him for the rest of the event. Hong Kong next up for me."

There was also disappointment for fellow Antrim man Jordan Brown, who lost 5-4 to Zak Surety. He led twice early in the match, knocking in a 118 in the opener.

From 2-2 he was chasing the English man, who knocked in three centuries of his own, including the high break of the match - a 132 - in the decider.

Aaron Hill is into the last 32 after battling to a 5-3 victory over Sunny Akani yesterday.

He will face Jimmy Robertson on Tuesday.

Judd Trump continued his impressive defence of the title as he fired three centuries in his second-round win over China's Long Zehuang.

After losing the opening frame, Trump rebounded with five consecutive breaks over 50, including back-to-back breaks of 108 and 121 to take the lead, then a concluding 101 to book his place in round three.

Trump told World Snooker Tour: "I have scored heavily in my first two matches here and could have had more centuries.

"The conditions are always good here in Yushan, the humidity is low. I like these kind of conditions, I find it easier to score and it helps my game."

Shaun Murphy matched Trump’s trio of centuries, but went one better with the 10th official maximum break of his career to round off a 5-0 whitewash of Zhou Jinhao.

Kyren Wilson secured breaks of 138, 111 and 90 to see off Lei Peifan 5-1, while Stan Moody maintained his good start to the tournament with a 5-2 win over former world champion Graeme Dott.
