Cork's Aaron Hill will face Tom Ford in the third round at the German Masters after routing Jimmy Robertson 5-1 in Berlin on Wednesday night.
Hill raced into a 2-0 lead, recording a break of 74 in the second frame, before Robertson got on the board in the third stanza.
However, Hill delivered an emphatic reply with a knock of 89 and closed out the sixth frame to progress to a meeting with the world number 19, who accounted for Daniel Wells on a 5-2 scoreline.

He followed that up by clawing back a 44-point deficit in the next.
Wu claimed the third frame despite Allen's half-century with the Chinese player following it up with a 72.
The Antrim man moved 4-2 ahead after the interval, but that brought the best out of Wu, eventually forcing a deciding frame with a magnificent 133.
Wu sealed the win in a low-scoring ninth frame to book a place in the third round.
World number one Judd Trump thrashed Joe O'Connor 5-0 to progress.

Zhou took the first two frames with breaks of 130 and 67 and another half-century edged him 3-2 in front after Wilson had got back on level terms.
However, Wilson reeled off the last three frames in a row with the aid of breaks of 72 and 100 to book his place in the next round.
World Championship runner-up Jak Jones also came from 2-0 down to beat John Higgins 5-3.
