China's Wu Yize progressed to a first ranking event final of his career after sweeping aside India’s Ishpreet Singh Chadha 6-0 at the BetVictor English Open.
Wu, 20, had knocked out world number one Judd Trump in the quarter-finals and continued his memorable run in Brentwood with another fine display on Saturday.
Wu opened up an early 3-0 lead and he never looked back as Singh Chadha failed to get a foothold following his late-night 6-5 win over Mark Selby.
Another run of 73 wrapped up a dominant victory for Wu, who will go on to face Australian former world champion Neil Robertson, who beat Chris Wakelin 6-1 in Saturday’s late session.
"I am feeling great now. There was quite a bit of pressure in this match for me and this is a very good result," Wu said on the World Snooker Tour website.
"It is great making it to this point, but I’m now competing for the title.
"This is my fourth year as a professional, I won’t put too much pressure on myself. I am eager to win, but I will maintain a calm mindset."
Robertson later produced another composed display to see off Wakelin and reach his first ranking final since 2022.
The Australian, world champion in 2010, is fighting his way back up the standings following a difficult spell, and can move back into the top 16 at the expense of veteran John Higgins if he goes on to win Sunday’s final.
Robertson, who beat Shaun Murphy earlier in the tournament, hit a break of 92 to establish an early 2-0 lead, which he continued to extend after the mid-session interval.
Another clearance of 71 saw him come from behind to take the sixth frame before closing out another solid display 89-30 in the next.
