Aaron Hill is into the last 32 of the Scottish Open after a securing a 4-1 victory over Jack Lisowski at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh.

The duo had only met once previously, with Lisowski winning by the same score in the last 16 of the Northern Ireland Open in Belfast in October.

But Hill gained a modicum of revenge for the defeat at his home event in what was a scrappy affair this evening. The Irishman was never behind with the high break of the match arriving in the fourth frame - a modest 53 from Hill.

Next up for the 21-year-old is a meeting with the winner of tomorrow's clash between Stuart Bingham and Manasawin Phetmalaikul.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, world champion Luca Brecel won a decider against James Cahill to book his spot in the last 32. The Belgian trailed 1-0 and 3-2, but he found form when it mattered hitting two centuries - 127 and 133 - to go through.

Recent UK Championship finalist Ding Junhui also progressed with a 4-1 triumph over Jenson Kendrick.
