Jimmy White will play in this week's UK Championship after the veteran player rolled back the years to come through qualifying in style.
White, who last won the tournament 30 years ago against John Parrott, beat Dominic Dale 6-1 today in the final stage to reach the main event.
It backed up his shock 6-4 win over Scotland’s Stephen Maguire on Monday, having completed whitewash 6-0 victories over Mitchell Mann and Victor Sarkis.
It will be the 60-year-old’s first appearance in the tournament in 12 years, have previously not reached the Barbican Centre since 2005.
The last player aged in their 60s to reach the UK Championship was Eddie Charlton in 1993.
White first competed in the tournament in 1981.
He’ll play one of the top 16 in the first round with the draw scheduled for tomorrow.
Wow! @jimmywhite147 qualifying for the later stages of the UK championships at the age of 60 has to be one the greatest achievements in our sport. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥
