Former world champion Judd Trump made a maximum break of 147 on his way to victory in the inaugural Turkish Masters.

Trump received a standing ovation from the crowd in Antalya after potting 15 reds, 15 blacks and the six colours in the 10th frame of the final against Matt Selt.

The clearance took the left-hander into a 7-3 lead and he went on to make further breaks of 73, 82 and 114 to seal a 10-4 victory and secure the £100,000 first prize.

"There was a time this season where I've been struggling quite badly so last week was a bit of a confidence boost to get to the final," said Trump, who lost the Welsh Open final to Joe Perry last weekend.

"This is a special one to battle back the way I have done and get the victory against Matt and I owe him a lot. At the start of my career he was the person that told me to go down to Essex and that's where my career took off."

Speaking about his 147, Trump added: "I don't think I've ever made one in a final before. It's normally in the first round or when no-one's there. To do it in front of this audience could be my most special one."

Trump led 5-3 after the first session and the evening got off to a bizarre start as he gave away a total of 60 points in fouls after being trapped in a difficult snooker.

However, Trump's determination to escape the snooker without leaving a pot on for Selt paid off as he went on to make an 88 clearance to win a frame which had a combined points tally of 189, just short of the all-time record of 192.
