Mark Davis secured a comprehensive victory against Anthony McGill to top Group 12 and progress to Winners' Week of snooker's Championship League.

Davis took a 3-0 win to book his return to the Morningside Arena in Leicester for Stage Two which gets underway on 9 August. He had earlier beaten Billy Joe Castle by the same scoreline and drawn 2-2 with Yuan SiJun, who finished just behind him after losing one more frame.

Chang Bingyu sealed his progression by beating Dean Young 3-0 in the final match of the day.

Bingyu had drawn 2-2 with Chinese compatriot Pang Junxu in his opening match but beat Luca Brecel and Young to finish at the summit of Group 31 ahead of Pang.

The Championship League opening stage resumes on Monday with 1997 world champion Ken Doherty in action.

The Dubliner is in Group 14 against Rory McLeod, Martin Gould and Ryan Davies.
